About Kenya
Kenya is a country of remarkable diversity, strategic importance, and vibrant growth. It presently has a population of approximately 54.9 million people, according to statistics from the Kenya Bureau of Statistics. 2024 UN estimates.
Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi, sits in the south-central part of the country and serves as a major regional, political, economic, and cultural hub in Africa.
The Embassy of Kenya, Cuba
The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Havana was established in September, 2016. The establishment of the Mission was inspired by the historical relations between Kenya and the Republic of Cuba. It is worth noting that Cuba was the first Caribbean country to establish a diplomatic mission in Kenya. The location of the Mission in the Caribbean was also informed by the critical role that the Republic of Cuba plays in the multilateral and global arena thus making Havana a hub for diplomatic engagement. In addition, the central location of Havana in the Caribbean makes it a convenient launch pad for engagements with other countries in the region.
